Role Summary/Purpose Responsible for carrying out analytic projects and building predictive origination and portfolio risk management models, tools, and methods. Involves building acquisition credit scoring models, customer behavior models, loss forecasting models and other analytic models and tools as needed.
Essential Responsibilities
* Develop statistical and/or other scoring and forecasting models and tools
* Enhance present models via statistical analysis of losses, delinquency, and analyst behavior
* Work proactively and closely with business managers to develop analytic solutions, ad-hoc analysis and modeling to improve business processes
* Present recommendations to senior Risk Management executives as needed.
* Conduct portfolio and ad-hoc analysis as needed
* Provide project management as needed.
* Mentor more junior team members
Qualifications/Requirements Basic Requirements:
* Bachelor’s Degree with 6+ years’ of Risk or Finance experience
* Experience in underwriting / risk / actuarial / statistical / reporting roles.
* Expertise in building credit, behavior, and forecasting scoring models and portfolio analysis with 5+ years model-building experience.
* MS – Statistics, Management Science, Economics, or related field
* Strong analytic software skills - expertise in SAS, Access, and the Microsoft suite of tools.
* Outstanding statistical and technical proficiency balanced with sound business judgment.
* Proven analytic and problem solving skills.
* The ability to translate highly conceptual analytic concepts into actionable business solutions.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Strong collaboration, teamwork skills.
* Must be able to manage complex projects without supervision.

Desired Characteristics
* Experience in risk management issues associated with commercial Credit Scoring and Automated Credit Decisions
* Experience incorporating economic leading indicators in models or building economic forecasting models
* Experience in Survival modeling
* Experience with portfolio management methods such as Loss Given Default, Profitability Modeling, Exposure at Default, Value at Risk, etc.
* Project management experience
* Experience working with large databases.
* A solid understanding of IT, and data management.
* Solid understanding and application of Quality improvement methods
